Sabina is tasked with overseeing IEPs and 504s, however, she has proven to lack knowledge of special education accommodations under state and federal law, said many parents. She told one parent that the school did not do 504 plans. She told another parent that these accommodations are only offered to students who perform below grade level. She denied families the right to have advocates observe their children at school. She regularly recommends how to tweak IEP and 504 plans without consulting the teachers who work directly with the students. She has said in these recorded meetings that she’s never interacted with said students, yet insists on her recommendations.
